DMC (Devil May Cry) MNM
It’s been 5 long years since we last saw an original Devil May Cry game. By gamer standards that’s an eternity. And get this, it’s not even a part of the actual storyline. Yeah you heard me, DmC: Devil May Cry is an alternate universe title. This means that Ninja Theory can do basically whatever the heck they want with your beloved Dante, well whatever the heck Capcom will let them do with Dante. Of the 90 people involved in making DmC, 10 were Capcom employees. They were present to help make the gameplay feel closer to prior Devil May Cry titles.
Full disclosure: I have NEVER played any of the Devil May Crys. That said, I am totally loving the punk-ass attitude that “New Dante” has in the trailer. He has a bit of flair to him and for some reason he can destroy demons. Hopefully I don’t need to elaborate on how awesome being able to kill demons is. The last game I played that had combat like this was Dante’s Inferno, and I ate it up! So if this little gem can muster up good frame rates and animations look smooth I’ll probably actually play the whole way through the story. Speaking of story, the trailer has me thinking of V for Vendetta but with demons being the oppressive political party and Dante being the instrument of their downfall. I can’t wait to hack and slash my way through a ton of demons.
For those of you who have played previous DMCs: Capcom / Ninja Theory hasn’t released any details on the involvement of previous characters. Virgil might make an appearance since he’s referenced in one of the possible pre-order bonuses. They have stated that the only playable character will be Dante and that is totally fine with me.
